February 2023 TMF Newsletter

Dear Friends,

Earlier this month we opened registration for one of our favorite events – the Miles for Mills Memorial Day Weekend 5K, presented by New Balance Foundation.

The race will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Sunday, May 28 at Brunswick Landing, the former Brunswick Naval Air Station. We’re ecstatic to bring this event back to Brunswick for the second year in a row! We also have sponsorship opportunities available, though they are going fast; to learn more, contact Shannon Ferran, Business Development Associate.

Winter programming is in full swing with recalibrated veterans and their families enjoying ice fishing, dog sledding, snowman building and more. Additionally, participants have enjoyed the indoor pool in our new Health & Wellness Center and adapted fitness equipment in our gym space.
We hope the rest of winter brings you warmth and togetherness!

Winter Programming

From a seeing companion describing dog sledding to a blind veteran on trails that wind through the Belgrade Lakes Region of Maine, to an amputee experiencing the weightlessness of our indoor pool, some memorable moments are on the books at the Travis Mills Foundation Veterans Retreat.

All the programming that we’re able to provide, including opening the Health & Wellness Center, is thanks to our supporters:

We couldn’t serve recalibrated veterans without you!

Vietnam Era Veterans Breakfast
