“Being a military mother turned caretaker is a loving challenge no one ever is prepared for. You raise your soldier, in my case CPT Jason Church (RET) to be independent and take on the issues in his life with leadership and perseverance.
So when Jason was injured I had to be careful not to think he was my young son again at home where his father and I set the rules. He was an Army Platoon Leader, and I needed to choose carefully how I addressed Jason’s challenges with his many surgeries and 2 new legs. I strived daily to give Jason his independence and space but was always ready to help when he wanted it. My goal and prayers for him was to know that God was not finished yet, he has given Jason a new platform to stand on. So thankful my son is still with me and his family.”
