John Romac, Commander US NAvy Ret. - Volunteer Coordinator
John Romac is our Volunteer Coordinator and joined our team in April of 2018.
He lives literally just down the street from the retreat center in Mount Vernon Maine with his wife Melissa, in a home they built on farmland that was formerly a part of the Elizabeth Arden Estate. John Graduated in 1978 from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a BS in Nuclear Engineering and received his Commission as an Ensign in the US Navy. Earning his wings in 1979, John went on to fly the A-6 Intruder, retiring from the Navy as a Commander in 1998. After another dangerous career of teaching and coaching high school teenagers, John “retired” again in 2016 and sought out opportunities to serve.
John enjoys the water; sailing, fishing and paddling. He loves to build things out of wood from bird houses to real houses and from wooden toys to real wooden boats.
